Why Pasadena? <\/strong>Located 10 miles from Los Angeles, Pasadena welcomes visitors with 300 days of sunshine, tree-lined streets filled with historic architecture, national landmarks, popular art & cultural institutions, and a diverse selection of restaurants. Unlike much of Los Angeles, many of Pasadena\u2019s attractions are within just a few blocks from one another. And California and the West Coast have the second-highest concentration of classmates (behind the Boston-New York-Washington corridor). It only makes sense!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why March, 2023? <\/strong>Our 40th reunion was entirely online, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and people are ready to get together in person again. And while New England will be cold and dreary in March, we can (almost certainly) count on beautiful weather in Pasadena.<\/p>\n\n\n

What will we do?<\/strong> Still to be determined, but lots of unstructured time for gathering, socializing, and hanging out. Options for activities at Huntington Gardens<\/a>, the Athenaeum<\/a>, Norton Simon Museum<\/a>, Gamble House<\/a>, the NASA\/CalTech JPL<\/a>, and a host of other sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where will we stay?<\/strong>  We have a limited block of rooms reserved at the historic Athenaeum Hotel<\/a> for $240\/night, first come first served.  For reservations call 626-395-8200.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Options also include the lovely Langham Hotel<\/a>, other area hotels, airbnb, staying with friends \u2013 you name it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known around the world as one of the most remarkable private art collections ever assembled, industrialist Norton Simon spent over 30 years amassing an astonishing collection of European art from the Renaissance to the 20th century, and a stellar collection of Indian and Southeast Asian art spanning 2,000 years. Modern and Contemporary Art from Europe and the United States, also occupies an important place in the Museum’s collections. The Museum houses more than 12,000 objects, roughly 1,000 of which are on view in the galleries and gardens.
