Contact: Ruth@HR1981.com<\/a><\/p>\n If you want to play along, register now<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n At our last in-person reunion, a number of us classmates sat down to think about the then-visible problem that our society has split into at least two major groups that have a very difficult time discussing any societal issue productively enough to coherently develop solutions together.\u00a0 This fissure within our society is perhaps the most dangerous challenge of our times, underlying all of the other serious concerns, since it undercuts all attempts to solve any problem.\u00a0 In the years since the reunion we have zoom-met intermittently, but continuously, to discuss and develop approaches to this problem (and others), and most recently a subgroup has been exploring a \u201cgame\u201d concept that we would like to introduce to our classmates.<\/p>\n The game starts with simple curiosity:\u00a0 how is it possible that such a huge fraction of the population, almost necessarily of comparable intelligence and comparable ethical stature, are convinced of political positions that appear to me clearly wrong?\u00a0 It would be fascinating if I could just talk to somebody who has that same question about my positions, just to understand what\u2019s going on. \u00a0 The goal of the game then is to find out the answer to this simple question. \u00a0 Note that the goals is not<\/em> to convince anybody else of anything, but just to find out<\/em> what would I need to believe about the world or about my priorities to share the other person\u2019s conclusions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" #1:\u00a0 Sun.
