You may wish to sit down before reading any further. On September 23-25, 2011, we plan to gather in Cambridge to celebrate our Thirtieth Reunion. Three decades. Is it just me or does it feel like we celebrated our Twenty-fifth Reunion two years ago? I’ll presume it’s just me.
Mark your calendar as Harvard plays Brown in football, under the lights, on Friday night, September 23, 2011. We’ll enjoy dinner before attending a night game at the Stadium. Once we finalize our Reunion plans, you’ll be able to view them at our Class of 1981 website, HR1981.org. For those living close to Cambridge, our prereunion events will include a night at the Hasty Pudding in February and a Harvard-Penn basketball game in early March (hopefully, for our first Ivy Title). Recent Thirtieth Reunions have expressed a preference for a casual atmosphere allowing ample time to catch up with friends. We plan to tailor ours accordingly–providing free time and informality.
Traditionally the Class of 1981 has enjoyed record-breaking participation in regards to our Class Report. Our Twenty-fifth Report was well received. Many classmates, during our Twenty-fifth Reunion, stated “I wish I had submitted a narrative for our Class Report. What a wonderful compilation of stories, I regret not participating.” Here is your opportunity. Our goal is to publish in excess of one thousand narratives for our Thirtieth Anniversary Report. Please do your part. Thank you in advance.
To submit your report go to http://harvard81.reuniontechnologies.com and enter your alumni user ID and password. If necessary, register for a free account at alumni.harvard.edu. Submit your full report as soon as possible. Our deadline is April 29, 2011. If you do not wish to furnish a narrative, I encourage you to update your contact information. In this manner, an old roommate, friend, nemesis, flame, etc., can reach out.
While online please consider a voluntary remittance with a credit card to support our Thirtieth Class Report publication. We, the Class of 1981, are solely responsible for the cost of the Class Report publication. We project our publication to be in excess of seven hundred pages. A $65 remittance is suggested, but any voluntary amount is truly appreciated. We’ll deliver our Class Report to you prior to our September 2011 Reunion.
