- European ’70s Wine & Cheese Party: Sat, April 10, 7-10pm CET (1-4pm EDT)
Calling all classmates for a nostalgic online 1970s wine-and-cheese party.
Register here. Bring your own bottle of wine (or whatever!), and some interesting cheese (or other snacks). We’ll aim to hit all the notes, from the sublime to the ridiculous. So far, a Château Pétrus, Louis XIV’s favorite mineral water, and “Hey, hey, hey Mateus rosé” have all promised to put in an appearance. A few of France’s 258 famously ungovernable cheeses will surely turn up, and the rest will be up to you!
We’ll relive fond memories of our 1970s campus wine-and-cheese parties. And swap tales of our subsequent exploits in Europe (and elsewhere). HR1981 has over 20 classmates who call Texas home – I bet most of us did not think 40 years ago that we’d find ourselves here (with the exception of my friend Matt Gaston who often told me about his wonderful home state). Let’s meet up! Grab a glass of wine, Margarita, or Shiner Bock and join your fellow HR1981’ers at a virtual happy hour. Feel free to have your spouse/partner join if they are interested – if it were a real in-person reunion, they’d be there. Depending on how many of us attend, we can either break into groups by major city or by industry.
